Our Story

It was my husband Giles who introduced me (Catherine) to the Channel Islands. His family have had links to the island of Alderney for decades and some of his happiest childhood memories were made there. I fell in love with the island as much as with him and we hop over to our little ‘paradise’ as often as we can to stay in our town house in St. Anne.

On our visits we’ve always taken the time to explore the other islands of the Bailiwick too, and while our hearts will always be on Alderney, our love for Herm, Sark, and Guernsey continues to grow with every year.

Being unable to visit the islands during the pandemic, I started to think about how I could bring the essence of the islands into my home in England.

During lockdown, Giles and I were looking through a big box of old photos of Alderney and chatting about our favourite memories... and Island Aura was born!

Scents are wonderful at evoking vivid memories, so I began by creating fragrances that reminded us of the best times on our favourite island, Alderney, before starting work on a fragrance collection that features the highlights of the other islands as well. My aspiration has always been to bring a piece of the Channel Islands into your space, I hope you enjoy the fragrances as much as I enjoy creating them.
